pacific city dory fishing solly.  When my dad asked me to go fishing with him I thought it would be just a simple little boat in a lake ( I was wrong). I woke up at 4am to get ready and left the hotel at 4:45. We drove down to the parking lot by the beach, where we met up with my cousin, will,  uncle, mike, and our captain, mark. Mark had us put life jackets on and then climb in to the boat while it was still in the trailer. I got nervous because I was told that when they tell us to hold on REALLY hold on or you will go flying. But it was actually more like a carnival ride than holding on to be able to survive. When we got our past the surf mark set my pole up and right after I put it in the water I got a bite, and pulled up two rock fish. After a while my dad got a really big bite he kept reeling it in and finally pulled up a big cod. While he was pulling it up I got a bite, when I reeled it in I didn't recognize the type of fish it was, mark said it was a canary rock fish. It was yellow! After a few more fish we decided to go and fish for cod instead, so we went out, set up our poles, and waited. We waited for a long time and finally my cousin, will, got a bite, he reeled it up and it was a blueish green colored cod. I was starting to feel a little sea sick so I put my pole in the holder and sat down, my uncle gave me some raspberries and after I ate one I threw up. I felt better after that. We went to pick up some crab traps. When we pulled up the first one there were so many crabs! When we were done with the crab traps we went back to see if we could catch any more cod, we didn't. Mark told us that when you get back to the beach the boat hits it really hard so you you need to hold on really tight. In my opinion everyone exaggerated the speed and need to hold super tight. Of course you need to hold on tight but it's more fun than scary and you get to catch lots and lots of fish.
