Six of us went out at 5:15am. The sea was beautiful calm and we decided to hit some bass before trolling for salmon. On our way out, we were greeted by a couple whales. The finishing was initially slow via trolling and then Mark decided we'd go off the bottom. It was a great decision. We found a couple of rocks and those fish were hungry. We'd drop about 126 feet and immediate bites happened as soon as we hit bottom. The fishing was quick and exiting, and we limited by 7:30. Then, it was on to salmon. While trolling, we got a couple of strong bites, but it wasn't until about 9:30 that the first one was really hooked. After a 10 min fight, one of the guys pulled up a beautiful chinook near Haystack rock. We kept trolling that area, getting several bites. On our last pass, we landed two beautiful salmon- one we had to throw back because it was wild. It was a perfect way to end the fishing, so we went off to crabbing. The pots were full of big, delectable crabs and our boat limited on them as well. We turned to go back and have an epic crab boil in Mark's garage bringing back 48 crabs, 30 bass, and 2 salmon among 6 fisherman. This was my dad and my second time out with Mark this summer and we will definitely be back for a third soon!
