I crawl out of bed at 4:30 am and put on my rain gear. I head out to the beach where I see a boat waiting for us. We hop on the boat and our journey through the ocean begins. The boat leaps over the waves as we head towards deeper waters. I feel the cold air brushing against my bare skin. Our first stop was for black rock fish. I dropped my line down and within seconds got a bite, I tank up and start reeling, the fishing pole is bending down as I try to keep the fish on my line. The fish appears at the surface of the water where we caught it dragged it on the boat. We kept at this for only a few minutes and soon we ended up with dozens of fish. After, we headed towards the crab traps where we attached the rope to an automated pulling system. We rounded up around 50 crabs in only 3 traps. We were excited from the catches and headed out to deeper water for more fishing. We were looking for lincod but none of the fish were willing to bite. After a few different spots of not bites we decided that we should go for salmon instead. We worked our way into deeper water. We set up our gear and then casted our lines. For the first couple of minutes there were no bites, all of a sudden my line was being yanked away. I jumped up and pulled up on my fishing rod. I reel in as swiftly as possible while still keeping the line tight. My arms were aching as the salmon was fighting back. I could feel my arm weakening as the salmon pulled. The salmon was slowing down as I reeled it in giving relief to my arm. I see the salmon and soon it was on the deck flopping around, glistening in the sunlight.
