We arose at 4 A.M. to go fishing off the Oregon Coast, and being the teenager I am, I was not thrilled. Yet. Upon launching the dory into the rolling surf, the wind gently whispering across the rolling waves, that angst disappeared and I immediately became more alert and excited. Throughout the day, we caught dozens of fish and crabs, also having a close encounter with a beautiful Blue Shark. The rods were constantly twitching and bending, our reels whirring as heavy fish made their attempts at escape. Needless to say, the extremely early morning was well worth the exhilarating experience of rushing across the waves and earning ourselves many delicious dinners.
