My husband and I were celebrating our 20th Wedding Anniversary with a charter trip. We contacted Pacific City Charters, and scheduled a trip. We were so excited the night before that we barely slept! Captain Mark was friendly despite the early hour when we met up. Our adventure began before sunrise with an exciting ride over the sand straight into the sea. It was a little rough at first, but we'd taken our Dramamine, so it was fine. First, we hit the rock fish grounds. Fishing started out slow, but Mark knew all the tricks and before long, we'd limited out. Next, we headed over to the crab pots. Captain Mark pointed out a grey whale on our way. I was fascinated to see Haystack rock from the other side. 3 quick pots later, we were limited out on Dungeness too! The salmon had moved out of the area, so we went after some Ling Cod. Mark put us right on the spot, and we started reeling them in. My husband and I each caught good sized Lings, then my husband reeled in a monster. I caught a beautiful quill back, but not my second cod before we were out of time. The whole time, Captain Mark was friendly and patient, offering excellent instruction when we needed it. It was an amazing way to celebrate our anniversary, but don't wait for a special occasion to book! We will definitely be coming back!
