Fishing started with getting up plenty early at 6:30 dressed up shielded from the weather to start the day. Preparations were concise and we were off to the water pretty quickly. Following the captain’s orders to hold on tight we went straight out to the first couple of fishing spots making use of the early morning to get the most fish. Going for black bass first we were on the hunt, jumping around trying to find some schools of fish, once we found some good spots we were ripping lips pretty quick. Following that was some more patient bottom fishing going for ling cod and halibut with good success, catching the halibut definitely being the highlight. Grabbing some crab pots on the way back we were back on the beach right before noon hit and the heat was starting to pick up. Heading back to the house to clean or haul, take pictures and hang out, it was a great day to be out on the water and experience the ocean.
