Mama and son’s first ocean fishing trip

We were looking for a day of adventure and we found it! After a summer of angling for trout on rivers near Hood, my son is becoming more and more interested in fishing, so we decided to come to the coast for the real deal. The heavy rain overnight decided to let up for a beautiful sunrise and morning just off the coast on Captain Mark’s boat. The seas were a bit rocky but we still managed to hook several large rockfish, two big Ling cod and a ton of Dungeness crab. Mark and Buddy were fun and relaxed in demeanor but sharp and ready with safety and instruction. I loved the balance between keeping things light and fun, and making sure everything was safe enough that I didn’t need to worry about my eight year olds safety. 10 out of 10 would recommend!!
