My day with Pacific City Fishing was one to remember! Our launch off the shore was not only a smooth ride, it was a beautiful morning to be on the water as the sun rose.
Our day started off with a bang when we went fishing for halibut and I was able to experience catching my very first halibut ever!
From there we went bottom fishing where we were all able to catch a wide variety of fish. I am no pro at bottom fishing and I'd be lying if I said I didn't get caught up on the bottom a few times, maybe even lost some gear for poor Mark. That didn't stop him though; he just said "loosing gear is part of the game" and blew it off like it was nothing. We went on to catch a bundle of sea bass; there were many times when all four of us had fish on at the same time which is such a great "fishing rush"! I caught a Cabazon which was my first experience with one of those wild looking fish. We pulled in crab pots and picked out the keepers and then back to bottom fishing it was! We caught Lingcod, and even more sea bass.
I have to say this was such an amazing day of fishing. Aside from the amazing weather and company the guide service as a whole was above and beyond. Mark was very professional when it came to setting up everyone's fishing gear and also with his concern for everyone's safety and making sure all of us were comfortable. Most importantly to me is; it seamed as though Mark was having a good time too. He appeared to really be enjoying what he was doing and having a great time along with us.
