Dory Day!

Hubby and I met Mark and his son and our three other fishing mates at 5am, in the dark. We were gifted life vests, climbed on the dory boat, and instructed on how to be safe while we road the waves into the ocean. The

Black Sea bass were first, and wow they hit fast! We each limited in about 30 minutes. The salmon were more challenging, especially with the barbless hooks! Still limited with the expert coaching and quality gear, all bright coho’s. Then a quick smooth ride back to the beach, excellent time!

Going out on the boat was really fun. There were no long discussions about how to do anything, which was nice. You learned as you go and instruction was given when needed which made it feel like a more enjoyable experience and like I was actually doing the fishing!

Mark is an excellent guide, listen to all his orders! We started the day pulling in a few dozen crabs, then reeled in 25 Black Sea bass before moving on to the real prize, Coho salmon. We all limited out and were back at the family barn by 10 for beers. All in all it was a perfect day fishing!
