The day started before sunrise. Pulling into the parking lot it was so dark you almost couldn't see the dory just 20 feet away from you. Bailey, Linda, and Mike formed one group while Brie, Noah, and Noah Sr. were the second group. We all met with Mark and Bob in the parking lot of the Pelican Pub. After a safety run down, fishing licenses, and putting on life jackets we all climbed into the boat. Mark and Bob drove the dory onto the beach and began the unloading process. You've never experienced anything like launching a dory. The truck backs up with the trailer and boat until the water finally lifts the boat just enough for the truck and trailer to speed forward. Bob then got us safely turned around while Mark ran from the truck and jump to the captain's position. Heading into the ocean was beautiful. The full moon was right above Haystack rock.  First we pulled up two crab pots and in a matter of minutes had 30 delicious crab on board. Then we were off to fish! We spent the rest of the morning pulling up big beautiful sea bass and Ling cod! The ride in was just as fun as the ride out. We coasted onto the beach and smiles were all around. Back at Mark's house we boiled the crab and cleaned the fish. Can't wait to eat them!!
