Fishin on a rock

We got up at 430am and meet the guys down at the beach. Then we all piled into the boat and they launched us out. We hit big waves going out. The first thing we did was head for the faint rock to start catching rockfish. They were biting as soon as we started dropping the lures into the water. We hit our limit for them within an hour of fishing. After that we headed over to the crab pots and started pulling them up. We got around 50 crabs. We then headed back towards the area where the rockfish were and started bottom fishing for cod and spent the rest of the time doing that. We got 8/12 cod for the trip and a few other fish that had to be tossed back. Coming back in was a new experience because we haven’t been on a flat bottom boat before and to get in they just revved the engine and beached the boat. Afterwards we headed back to his place and cleaned the fish and cooked up the crab for a great lunch. This was a wonderful father and sons time thank you. The 2 biggest fish we caught were 18lbs each.
