We found out today that Dory fishing and Trout fishing are two completely different things. You would expect to leave from a dock, but no. We launched right off the beach into the ocean! We land the exact same way, with a "hold on!!" from the captain we come back in with a somewhat soft landing in the sand! Wonderful trip, learned so much about rock fish and how to fish for them, the chaos and teamwork it takes to reel in a beautiful silver and the relief when we get back in and have pots full of crab!! Dramamine surprisingly kept us from getting sick for most of the day. Not until we headed back towards the beach that it started wearing off. Overall, the effort all of us put in, keeping our balance, focusing on everyone's fishing rods, not puking, and especially staying warm.. It was the coldest trip ever, but definitely worth it. Mark was very helpful, he taught us so much, without him we wouldn't have ended with 6 salmon, 24 crab and 35 bottom fish. Can't wait to go again!!
