Kids First Ocean Trip

Contacted mark and got a very quick response, I had questions about taking my 6year old and 5year old as most charters have ether a 8 or 6 year cut off.. mark said it wasn’t a problem.. once we meet up for our safety debriefing he made sure everyone knew they’re parts to play including placing the kids in specific locations on the boat with grandpa and mom to maximize safety. mark was very professional..

Waking up at 3 in the morning, I was questioning if this fishing thing was worth the lack of sleep, especially with two young kids in tow. It was absolutely worth it! It was a thrill getting to launch into the ocean and feel that sea breeze on your face. Mark and Buddy got straight to finding the fish. My 6yr old caught the first fish of the day with Buddy’s help. My son was so stoked. Shortly after that we got to see Blue Humpback Whales and Porpoises. We found the sweet spot where our lines were catching two fish at a time, a happy crazy moment. It was a beautiful day to watch the pelicans and take in the view of the coast from the ocean. Then you remember that this is why we woke up early for the memories and experience of catching our own food, as a family. Mark did a great job explaining what to do and when to do it, he was great with the kids. He even stopped and let us watch the whales one last time before going in. We caught our limit of rock fish and crab and got to spend a beautiful day on the ocean.
