After Captain Mark had to cancel our trip on a Sunday due to concerns about bad weather he was extremely helpful and kind by letting us reschedule for Tuesday. We started our day at the boat launch at about 5am which on a regular summer day may seem a little gloomy but thanks to Captain Mark’s and First Mate Marcus’ big smile and amazing jokes the morning became so much better. After a silky smooth launch from the beach we went and picked crab pots. As the pots are raised into the boat the crew make sure that the crabs are the appropriate size and gender to be harvested, those that aren’t are thrown back. The crew also make sure to collect the baby crabs that dropped off the pots and throw them back into the ocean to ensure that there will be crab for future generations. We then went to fish for rockfish and lingcod. The crew make sure that every customer on board is equipped with good gear and great techniques for fishing. After catching our fill of rockfish and lingcod we went trolling for salmon. Although we didn’t catch any salmon, Captain Mark and Marcus did everything they could to try and get us into some fish. After landing on the beach we proceeded to Captain Mark’s house for freshly filleted fish, delicious boiled crab, and just a general good time. This is the second year we have fished with Captain Mark and I am so happy to say we will definitely come back. Captain Mark, First Mate Marcus, and Mark’s wife Linda are all fantastic people and I would recommend their charter 100%
