Joe Brown and I had a great day of fishing with Captain Mark today. We missed the early window to launch through the surf because we were a little late (get to the meeting point by 5:30 so there’s no question hitting the low tide window). But we blasted through the surf after waiting 30 minutes or so. After our heart rate recovered, we checked crab pots - not many then hit various spots for rock fish and ling cod. We limited out on rock fish by 9:30 and got 4 nice ling cod. Checked pots again (after fresh bait put in) and got about 20 keepers. Blasted through the surf on the way back and now we’re sipping beer in Marks lodge (i.e., garage) waiting for the filets and the crab to boil. Advice: be early and don’t forget your Dramamine. We will be back for this unique fishing experience. Thanks Mark and Marcus and Sue. —- Walt Shields
